Jake Meyer: "Taming the Savage Mountain" (Virtual talk)

The Royal Geographical Society - Singapore presents: Jake Meyer - "Taming the Savage Mountain", on 4 June 2020 at 7.30pm (GMT+8)! Join us for an evening of adventure as Jake shares the fascinating stories behind his expeditions to conquer K2, the world's second highest peak.

Jake Meyer FRGS is a record-breaking British Mountaineer and Adventurer. He was 21 when he summited Everest in 2005, which at the time made him the youngest Briton to climb Everest, and the youngest man in the world to complete the 7 Summits. Amongst many other expeditions and adventures, more recently he became only the 8th British climber to survive climbing K2, after 10 years and 3 attempts at the ‘Savage Mountain’. When he’s not climbing or planning expeditions, he’s a full-time leadership development consultant for the Inspirational Development Group. He has served in Afghanistan with the British Army, and is also an ambassador of a number of charities including Walking With The Wounded and The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards Scheme.
